Noirmoutier
The island of Noirmoutier, nicknamed “l’île aux mimosas” (the mimosa island) for its mild climate, which allows the mimosas to bloom in winter, is a multi-faceted territory, with landscapes of salt marshes, dunes, forests, sandy beaches and whitewashed houses covered in pink tiles. Bring your bike or rent one and explore the island’s many cycle paths, admiring the breathtaking ocean views. The Ile d’Yeu is packed with exceptional sites, a rich heritage and unspoilt natural areas to discover on foot or by bike. Its bustling fishing port livens up the quays of Port-Joinville, with its ballet of colorful fishing boats and its fish market.

Le Grand Défi is a large leisure park with accrobranche courses accessible from age 2, a paintball area, an outdoor laser game ideal for friends, a mini farm and many other activities. Le château des aventuriers is perfect for families, where you can discover a castle, a garden, the history of dinosaurs and, above all, take part in treasure hunts. For adults, let yourself be tempted by the Odyssey experience in La Roche-sur-Yon. For the little ones, visit the Jarrie educational farm, 10 minutes from the campsite.
Savour the gastronomy of the Vendée
The Vendée has many gastronomic specialties. Discover the essential gâche vendéenne: similar to brioche, this one is creamier, ideal for breakfast. As an aperitif, try the préfou vendéen, made with bread, butter and garlic, a real treat for the taste buds. Discover Trouspinette, a sweet vin d’épine perfect for aperitifs. You’ll also find the famous Mogette, tender white beans.
