LE MUSÉUM DU COQUILLAGE – SHELL MUSEUM
The richness of the exhibition, the diversity and the quality of the pieces represented, contribute to the success of the Shell Museum located in Les Sables d’Olonne. Through 230 exhibit cases, discover more than 45,000 exotic shells with extraordinary shapes and shimmering colours : fossils, mother-of-pearl, giant clams, cones, nautical, volutes and also seahorses, starfish, sea urchins, sponges, corals plunge the visitor into a magical world.
LE MUSÉE DE L’AUTOMOBILE – AUTOMOBILE MUSEUM
It is the passion of a family for mechanics and automobiles that has made it possible to group at the Musée Automobile de Vendée in Talmont-Saint-Hilaire an incredible collection of more than 200 vehicles : motor vehicles, cycles, motorcycles and hippomobiles. About 45 brands are represented from the “De Dion” steam from 1885, to the futuristic prototypes.


LE MUSÉE DES TRADITIONS POPULAIRES – FOLK TRADITIONS MUSEUM
Discover the daily life of the inhabitants of the Pays d’Olonne, at the beginning of the 20th century. The Museum of Folk Traditions, installed in a former school in Olonne-sur-Mer, retraces, through 6 exhibition rooms, traditional handicrafts, costumes, a rural interior, seaside activities, a class and memories of the First World War.
LE MUSÉE DES LIBELLULES – DRAGONFLY MUSEUM
On 400m² of exhibitions and in a garden of 10 000m², the Dragonfly Museum, in Chaillé-sous-Les-Ormeaux, offers the discovery of this graceful insect and its environment, the Yon Valley. The observation is made both through permanent or temporary exhibition halls as well as exteriors with the Jardin des Agrions, the Jardin des Demoiselles, the banks of the river Yon, the island of the Furet…


L’AQUARIUM DE VENDÉE
The Aquarium de Vendée is a human-sized aquarium located in Talmont Saint Hilaire, offering a fantastic visit in the heart of marine life, with more than 500 species to discover through 3 universes, representative of the four corners of the marine world.
LE MUSÉE DE L’ABBAYE DE SAINTE CROIX
Located in the former priory of Benedictines Sainte Croix, in Les Sables d’Olonne, the Museum of the Abbey of Sainte Croix presents over 2,500m² of white rooms and attics like overturned boat hull, collections of modern and contemporary art, ethnology and archaeology. Two main artists are represented : Gaston CHAISSAC, rustic and modern painter and Victor BRAUNER, painter close to the surrealists. Temporary exhibitions of national and international quality animate the museum.
